Garage Sale Introduction

This introduction activity needs preparation beforehand. Prepare various odds and ends -- a cigarrette butt, a ballpen cap, a rag doll, a piece of sheet music... imagination is the limit! Make sure to put twice the number of objects as there are participants. Put everything on a table and cover the table with a piece of cloth. Invite participants to come near to the table, look at the items and pick an item that appeals to them, or best describes them, or reminds them of something significant about themselves (a dream or wish). Have each participant show the object to the group and share why they chose this object.
