Subway
A high-energy activity. This game is reminiscent of the children's party game "Trip to Jerusalem." Unlike Trip to Jerusalem, chairs face inward, and there is one chair more than the number of participants. First, select an "it" who stands in the middle of the circle. Have the rest of the participants sit in chairs in a circle. Add one additional chair. Participants move clockwise, transferring seats. The objective of the game is to keep the "it" from sitting on the extra chair. Once the "it" is able to sit down, the person immediately to the right of the "it" becomes the next "it". Safety tips: It's best to use plastic chairs without arm rests. Keep chairs close together -- have a facilitator roam outside the circle of chairs, making sure they are in place as participants tend to accidently push the chairs away.
